Here at Mazworx, we can prep your block to your specifications. Utilizing our CNC capabilities and state-of-the-art equipment, you can ensure that the machining process is done properly. For more understanding of our process, see the additional information section.
The Stage 2 package is designed for DIY engine builders that want a high performance street/strip upgrade. This will be good for and engine making up to 1200hp.
Hot Tank Cleaning:
Wash your block to get oil and grim off.
Sand Blast and Paint Block:
After the initial cleaning, your block will be sand blasted resulting in a brand new look. We will then paint the outside of your block with semi-gloss black paint.
12mm Head Stud Machining:
The RB30 came with 11mm head studs. This service converts them to an 12mm allowing you to run an RB26 head stud. Machining to the head is necessary if not using an RB26 head.
Threaded/O-ringed Freeze Plugs:
OEM freeze plugs are known to leak or pop out under high boost. We CNC machine the freeze plug holes to accept our threaded and o-ringed freeze plugs.
Bore:
Our boring process is done on a 3-axis CNC machine ensuring bores are on center. From there it goes to the honing machine. We have the latest Sunnen SV-10 cylinder hone with diamond tooling. This is for the ultimate in cylinder finishing.
Oil Groove Machining:
The RB26 block came with a groove cut into the upper part of the main journals. This allows you to use a 5-hole main bearing to supply more oil to the mains and ultimately to the rods. We can do this addition to all other block in our 3-axis CNC machine.
Main Studs and Line Hone:
ARP main studs are installed. Line honing is followed to get to exact specifications.
Surfacing:
This process is done using a coated CBN cutter.
R/R Oil Port Plugs:
This process includes removing all the oil port plugs. By taking out the oil port plugs, we are better able to clean all the oil galleys. Then we will CNC machine the galley holes to accept our o-ring threaded plugs. These have an oring to ensure proper seal and are straight threaded for ease of remove in the future. The oil plug and orifice on the deck will also be removed for through cleaning. They will be tapped for new plugs and orifice
Hone with Torque Plate:
We make all of our torque plates for just about every block we work on. Using a torque plate simulates a cylinder head being bolted on during the honing process. When the motor is actually put back together, the cylinder is as true as it was while in the honing machine. Using the torque plate is a must with sleeves install. It is an option on stock sleeve blocks.
Convert for RB26 AWD Oil Pan:
We machine the block and provide and adapter plate. This is required if using an RB26 AWD oil pan.
